For the safety and
enjoyment of everyone who visits the Pittsford Indoor
Rowing Center, there a few important rules about expected
behavior inside the center, as well as about driving to and
from the center during the winter months.
House Rules
- No running or horseplay.
- No food. Only water bottles are allowed in the PIRC.
- No one is allowed in the tanks at any time.
- Do not put anything (soap, goldfish, bottles, etc.)
in the tanks.
- Please keep conversations low and noise to a minimum.
- Enter and exit rowing stations in single file.
- No bare feet. Protective footgear must be worn at
all times.
- Don’t sit, lean or hang anything on the railings.
- Do not operate any tank house controls
(impeller speed, thermostats, lights, etc.)
unless authorized by the PIRC Manager.
- The PIRC Manager must approve all schedule
changes/additions.
- The PIRC Manager has complete authority for the rowing
center. Please follow any directions or orders given
by the PIRC Manager.
- Anyone disregarding the above rules will be asked
to leave.
Winter Automobile Rules
- If the gate is closed, the facilities are closed.
Check hotline for status: 585-234-7463.
- DRIVE SLOWLY at all times.
- Car pool when possible.
- Do not unload or load passengers at top of hill.
- RIGHT turn only when exiting facility.
- Exiting vehicle has right-of-way over entering
vehicle.
- If driveway is slick, exiting vehicles should wait
at the bottom of the hill until the top area is clear.
- Try to space departures to prevent congestion at the
top of the hill.
- Park only in plowed areas.
